The Misty Mountain

Because of our rain-cancelled plans yesterday, we drove up to Whistler this fine morning. The mountain is about an hour and a half away, but it was quite scenic and I did a lot of reading. We took the Sea To Sky highway, which borders the ocean and has some great views, so the drive was

definitely worth it. Our first stop at Whistler was Creekside, which was a quaint little village. Since it was a holiday Monday, however, all of the shops were closed in that area, so we got a picture on the Olympic podium and then

headed towards Whistler Village. Whistler Village was much larger and there were a lot more people around. We stopped to eat lunch and then went for a walk around, checking out the shops. We ended up at one of the running gondolas at the base of the hill. A lot of people were taking their bikes up but there must still be some snow on the hill, because there were also a few people with skis and snowboards. Once we’d had our fill of Whistler, we got back on the road. It took us a little longer coming back because of traffic, but we made it

okay. Mum and Dad started on supper when we got back to the trailer, since Lise was coming over to join us. I helped by cutting up some crackers and cheese for an appetizer, and we had an enjoyable evening. Lise is a lot of fun. When the adults wanted some time to talk amongst themselves, I disappeared to my room and Skyped with my friend Willow until Lise had to leave. Peace out m8s.
