Exploring The Island City

Our first full day in Victoria, and we did quite a bit of exploring. The parents took the dog to the dog park in the morning and happened to here that a parade was going on a few blocks up. When they finished walking Kizmet, they let Isaac and I know that a parade was happening so we all eventually made our way up to the route. As luck would have it, we arrived just as the last float passed. Ah well. Instead of watching a parade, we ended up dropping Kizzy off at the trailer before hopping in the truck and driving into town so we could have a walk around Government Street. As we walked we checked out

various stores along the street, and stopped in Roger’s Chocolates to pick up a gift for my friend’s family who had invited us over for dinner. We then popped in the Empress to have a look around at it’s grandeur. It’s going through some renovations but the inside is still very nice. By this time we were all getting a little hungry. Mum and Dad remembered the James Bay Tearoom from a previous visit, so we headed over there. It wasn’t as good as they remembered, unfortunately, and a bit overpriced. It was too bad but what can you do. After our lunch, we walked around along the harbour for a bit

and then headed back to Douglas Street. We headed back to the campground around 3:00pm, and I did homework for a couple of hours before we set out again for Brentwood Bay, where my friend Jeremy lives. I headed off for a grand house tour with Jeremy once the slightly awkward hellos happened. We spent the time before dinner playing Wii Sports Resort in the basement. Jeremy’s mum, Karen, made us a really

good supper of ribs with assorted sides. The two of us opted to eat on the roof while our younger brothers ate in the basement and the adults sat around the table. Once it started to get dark, we came down off the roof and went to watch Luther, which is a British detective show and it’s really good. My family left at about midnight after making plans to drop me off at the house the next day. Peace out m8s.
