Oh, How It's Been So Long

Today we took a trip to the town of Astoria, where Dad had booked the truck in for maintenance. We had to have the truck in by 10:40am, so we were out of the trailer at a relatively good time. At the Ford dealership, Dad checked the truck in and then one of the employees shuttled us into town so we could walk around instead of sitting in the waiting room all day, which was very kind of her. We spent the next few hours wandering

around downtown Astoria, poking in the shops and such. Around noon, we started to get hungry. The Bow Picker had been recommended to us as a good fish and chips joint, but unfortunately, it’s closed on Mondays, so we went to a pub instead. The pub had a nice patio and we were aloud to have Kizzy at our table. After we ate, we went to the coffeeshop next door for a treat before heading off to look in more

shops. Once the truck was finished and we were driven back to the Ford, we went for a drive through the town to find the house from The Goonies, because Astoria just so happens to be where the movie was filmed. The person who owns it now is missing out on some tourism opportunities because they won’t even let anyone up their street. They must have gotten tired of people gawking at their house. We made our way halfway back to Cannon Beach and stopped in Seaside where we took a walk along the promenade and down on the beach. We were there for a couple of hours before making the rest of our way back home. Peace out m8s.
