A Meal On A Floating Restaurant

Our first and only day in Coeur D’Alene proved to be very uneventful. I slept in in the morning and had a very aesthetically pleasing breakfast once I awoke. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it, but it was bacon, toast, pineapple and orange juice. I say it was aesthetically pleasing because the colours were very uniform. After I ate my scrumptious meal, I spent the next five or so hours sitting outside in my chair and reading various books. I started the second book in the Foundation trilogy by Isaac Asimov, titled Foundation and Empire, and also continued to read the second book in the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, titled Eldest. I highly recommend the Inheritance Cycle because it has dragons, and who doesn’t like dragons. At around

3:00pm, we took our bikes off the back of the trailer and rode them down to the lake. Well, we actually took our bikes down about an hour and a half earlier, but that’s how long it took us to get out of the campsite. It was only a short bike ride down to the public beach that we had visited the last time we came to Coeur D’Alene. We biked around the area for a little while and then stopped for a rest on the beach. The water was pretty cold, so I amused myself watching two guys who had obviously challenged each other to a long distance dive contest. Unfortunately for them, that meant diving right into the water and submerging themselves completely. It was really cold, but of course, since they were

men, they couldn’t back out of their manly contest for fear of losing their manly status between men. One of them eventually went in and we left before the other one did, but, since it was a question of his manhood, I assume he went eventually. When we got back to the trailer, Dad made a reservation for dinner at the nearby restaurant called The Cedars. The Cedars just so happened to be a floating restaurant, built right on a floating platform. The food they had was really good. I ordered some Mahi Mahi on coconut rice with mango and pineapple salsa. It was also pretty good because Mum and Dad got free cocktail coupons from our campground that they were able to use at the restaurant. The meal was really good but it got a bit chilly near the end, so we were all happy to get back in our trailer and but some sweaters on. Before bed we all watched Cry Baby with Johnny Depp. Let me just say, it was pretty bad and I was a little disappointed that Johnny didn’t actually sing, but it was pretty funny. Peace out m8s.
