The Time To Jive
Galveston isn’t exactly the most exciting town around. I mean it’s an hour from Houston, but Houston is just a big city and isn’t exactly an exciting one. We are on the Gulf of Mexico, but that is not very pretty. Even the beach is kind of ugly. I spent most of the day inside, doing up my blogs since I fell behind yet again. It’s not like I enjoy doing them though so I guess it isn’t really all that surprising. Around 3:00pm, Mum and Dad dragged us children outside to take the dog for a walk down the beach. While we were preparing to leave, we met a couple of our
neighbour because their chihuahua decided to take himself for a walk over to see Kizmet. They told us about the Opera House in town and how there was a show going on tonight, a song and dance show with all the hits from the late ’30’s and early ’40’s. Then we went down to the beach for a bit before coming back so Dad could buy tickets for the show. We ended up rushing a bit to get out of the trailer because Mum was making gumbo and it took a while, plus, of course, it’s us. The show was pretty good, but it wasn’t my favourite. The popular music from that era is all very similar in sound and it started to get a bit monotonous after a while but the performers had some pretty good jive moves. It was 10:00pm by the time we got home so we all headed to bed. Peace out m8s.
