A Mardi Gras Birthday

Happy birthday Padre! Thanks for being my padre, it helps with the whole me existing thing. So the entire city of New Orleans is throwing a really big party for Dad’s birthday which is kind of cool. Who knew they liked him that much. Wait… this just in, the party, according to Susan, is not, in fact, for my dad’s birthday and is actually for Mardi Gras because today just so happens to be Tuesday. Whoops, sorry bout that Dad. We headed out to a couple of parades this morning after a scrumptious breakfast of pancakes and smoothie. We ended up catching the tail end of the Krewe

of Rex parade, which yielded many crown themed beads, and we stayed for the first fifty floats or so of the Semi-Truck Parade. The Semi-Truck Parade was different from all the other parades we’d seen, in that all the floats are pulled by semi-trucks, instead of tractors, as you may have guessed, and all the floats have their own theme instead of the entire parade being based off one theme. By the time

we left, I felt like we had seen enough parade floats to last oh, around fifteen years or so. Isaac so happened to disagree with my sentiment and had wanted to stay longer, but alas it was the birthday boy making the calls today. The rest of the day was spent in relaxation. I read a lot and Isaac and Dad played some chess with the new set. I’ll have to try it out myself in the near future because the pieces are pretty. For dinner we had some delicious steaks with salad and mashed potatoes before we all sat down on the couch to watch Catch Me If You Can with Leo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. And it’s based on a true story. Holy geez. Peace out m8s.
