A Riverwalk To Remember

The boys took off around the time I got up for some time at the driving range, since Isaac wanted to try golfing. Dad also asked me if I wanted to go, but I have pretty much zero interest in the sport. I much prefer baseball, if we’re choosing sports in which you have to swing something. I was reading when they got back and lo and behold, they put a tree in our front room. A Charlie Brown style Christmas tree. After Isaac made a beautiful mess on the floor whilst filling the tree pot with sand and gravel, we set out into the town of Savannah. We parked and walked over to one of the bigger town squares where we ate lunch and listened to the band playing at a

nearby café. After we ate, we walked around the city market, looking in shops and such. I bought my keychain at one of the stores and Dad and I bought some praline’s from the original makers of pralines. It’s basically fudge and pecans so it’s pretty good. After we had finished looking through the shops, we walked down to the river to do the river walk. The walk in quite longs and is lined with fifteen different plaques telling the story of Savannah while keeping ties to the river and the ocean. We learned about how Savannah was the first planned city in Southern America and how it’s founder and the founder of Georgia, General James Oglethorpe, wished to give a new start to the working poor and

give strength to the colonies. After we finished the walk, we turned around and took a different route back to the car. We took a trip through a few of the city’s town squares. Savannah originally had twenty-four squares but now only has twenty-two there were many monuments and plaques within the squares, mostly about important people and events in the history of Savannah. It was fun to walk around the town. We headed back to the trailer when it started to get dark and tonight was the night in which we finished the second Star Wars trilogy. With my personal favourite, Revenge of the Sith. Don’t yell at me. Peace out m8s.
