Not A Creature Was Stirring... Except For The Teenage Daughter Who Was Reading

’Twas the night before Christmas… And the boys and I were out by quarter to 9:00am on our way over to the front desk to fill out some forms for the trail ride we had booked. Unfortunately, Mu couldn’t come because the lady that lead the trail rides brings her own horses to the campground and she can only fit four in her horse trailer; one for her, another three for the followers. We got over to the front office by 9:00am so we could sign up for our ride. Unfortunately our guide was running a bit late, but we still got our full ride in.

Our trail guide’s name was Cassie and my horse was Sugar. Sugar is the same age as me and she is very sweet, easy to ride. We went around through the forest, around the swamp, looking for turtles, since apparently there are lots of turtle around. We didn’t see any wildlife which is both good and bad since it means we didn’t see any alligators either. The ride was pretty good, although my saddle was a bit hard. When we got back to the beginning, it was around 11:00am so we said thank-you

to Cassie and went back to the trailer. I spent the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon reading. Everyone at the campsite had been invited to the clubhouse for a Christmas Eve potluck. There was a lot of food over there, mostly cheese and crackers and a couple of hams. I ate some and played the piano a little bit while the parents talked with some of the other adults. I got bored after a while so I headed back to the trailer. Everybody else came back about a half an hour later and we had some snacks while we watched the animated Disney version of the Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. It’s a little weird, because of the method of animation they used by altering the real actors. Apparently Dad watches one version of the Christmas Carol or another every Christmas Eve. Huh. Peace out m8s.
