Luke, I Am Your Father

As Dad is sickly and Isaac and I are lazy, we didn’t get much done the morning of our first day in Wilmington. We didn’t get much done for the first half of the afternoon either for that matter. Dad did get the new laptop all set up, with Microsoft Office and all that fanciness. Mum also ordered tickets for A Carolina Nutcracker, which is a Civil War era take on the ballet. We ended up getting out a couple hours after lunch to go explore Wilmington’s historic district. We decided to walk the Riverwalk, but a lot of it was closed for construction so we could only walk one section. It was very quaint but there were more restaurants than shops along the waterfront so we mostly just walked with Kizzy. We walked along the street on our way back and did go in a couple of shops along the way. We stopped at a coffee shop since Dad hadn’t had his daily latte yet and it turns out they allow dogs in this particular café. Kizmet was very excited about all the new smells and especially about the six-month-old puppy a few tables away. I ordered a Mexican Spice Chocolate Frappe and it was quite delicious. Once we had finished our drinks we started on our way again. Mum, Isaac and I stopped at a market to have a look around. This is when I learned that not only do they have annual reenactments of famous Civil War battles and colonial style houses in the South, the majority of their books are also about the Civil War. I’ve always found the obsession kind of ironic, since they totally lost. I also found a keychain designed like the North Carolina license plate and it had my name on it. It was incredible, that never happens. We also finally found a music store where I went in to buy some new rosin for the violin since I lost it in Newfoundland. It was kind of awkward since I forgot the word rosin so I had to kind of uncomfortably browse until Dad came in. After Mum and Dad bought some supper stuff, it was time to head back since our two paid for hours were up. When we got back to the trailer, I did some homework while the parents were at the store buying even more supper stuff and then we had a dinner of ravioli and prosciutto. After supper we watched The Empire Strikes Back, since we have to watch all the Star Wars movies again before the next one comes out. In the order they came out obviously. Peace out m8s.
