Sonya's Blog - Day 161 - Rain, Rain and More Rain
Sonya’s Blog - Day 161 - November 30th - Rain, Rain and More Rain
Well it was pouring rain this morning and had been raining most of the night. The campground was completely soaked and it is going to rain all day today. No fun. We decided to go to the Farmer’s Market today.
We had a slow start, but finally got out the door. Not all the businesses were open at the Farmer’s Market, but the Creamery was and one vegetable stand. That was what we came for, so that worked out well for us.
After we got everything we needed for supper and supplies we went over to the Amish place for some lunch and to look at their great furniture (Blake and I had already been, but Suzanne wanted to check it out). Natasha loved the furniture, as well, and fell in love with one of their desks. It won’t even fit in our trailer, so she will have to look for a desk when our trip is done.
We had lunch at their little restaurant. It was very good food and we had a nice lunch. After lunch it was time for the little kids to nap. We all drove back to the RV. We had Kate in the truck with us and she fell asleep right before we got back. The little stinker. We tried to move her inside, but she woke up and wouldn’t go back to sleep. It would have been better if she had slept more, but what can you do.
Simon went down for a nap and slept hard, he was so tired and is so sick. The girls wouldn’t nap, but they both had to have a quiet time and Suzanne went for a nap as well. I spent a little time reading, but then I had to get started on supper. We were having stew for supper, so it needed to have time to simmer properly. Natasha and Isaac did homework and Blake read for a bit. When the girls were done their quiet time Blake played a game of Sorry with them.
I made a stew with dumplings, because my kids love dumplings. It turned out pretty good. I should have simmered it in the crockpot because it is so hard to control the heat on the gas stove. It got a little crusty on the bottom.
After supper the girls went to bed and we played a game of Dominion. Simon was pretty wired up and wouldn’t go to sleep because he had such a long nap, so he had difficulty falling asleep. We managed to get our game done and Natasha won, she totally dominated the whole game. I did terrible, things just did not go well for me.
We were pretty tired after that, so we called it a night.
