Sonya’s Blog - Day 113 - October 13th - A Rainy Day in Old Orchard Beach
We woke up to a very foggy, misty day with the promise of rain starting sometime this morning. That was fine because we had schoolwork to go through with the kids and we had to deal with my cell phone to get that all set up. Blake called Bell once they were open and got my cell phone unlocked and I worked with Isaac on grammar and then Blake worked with him on Math. Natasha is working on various essays right now; a persuasive one on the justice system, one on saving money, various ones on Native Americans in the different areas we have visited, and several book reports. She worked on a couple of those and did some math work.
Once my phone was unlocked Blake, Isaac and I went out to the AT&T store. Isaac and I went in search of a Post Office while Blake set up my new phone account with AT&T and went to the bank to get us some US cash (forgot to do that before we left Canada - oops). Blake and I now both have US numbers and no contract plans in the States, so we are all set up.

Once we were back at the RV the kids did a little more school work. Blake went and rented out a basketball so we could go and play a little two on two, since it had stopped raining. I was on Natasha’s team and Blake was on Isaac’s. First, Blake taught Isaac how to do a lay-up and how to shoot the ball. They practiced that for a bit and then we played our game. Well, we are not very good players and I think there were probably a lot of penalties. In the end we played two games and Natasha and I won both:) It was a really pretty spot down on the river so we also got some great pictures with the fall colours behind us. It is my favourite time of year!

After we were done we decided to head to a forest walk that we saw yesterday called The Grove. It was very pretty in there and we had the whole thing to ourselves. We walked around, except for Isaac who ran around with dead tree branches and acted crazy the whole time. It was a beautiful walk. Natasha and I also went down to the nearby train tracks to get some cool pictures.

It was now time for supper and Natasha was cooking (with my help). We have some Black Bean pasta that we like to cook up with a curry coconut sauce, with some vegetables. Natasha did the cooking and I helped her prep and it was a very good supper. Blake and Isaac did the dishes and then we watched a couple of episodes of Corner Gas. They were pretty funny.
