The Ship Hector

We only have one full day in New Glasgow and there wasn’t much to do so, after a pancake breakfast, I did some math homework and Aunt Theresa brought out her family tree and my great-grandfather’s discharge papers from WWII. My parents spent some time looking at those things. Around lunch time we decided to take the dogs and head into Pictou, which is the birthplace of New Scotland. We walked around the pier for a bit and saw a replica of the first ship to ever bring over immigrants from Scotland, the Ship Hector. There were two hundred people on that ship which sounded like a hellhole to me. You’ll see why in the picture. Then we decided to check out one of the streets further up to see if there were any cafés with patios, but alas we were unlucky. We did get some shortbread to take home from a little tea shop. Back at the house Aunt Theresa warmed up some leftovers from dinner for a quick lunch and then I decided to have a lay down time. I watched a couple episodes of the Flash. When I got called out again, Dad and I lost by a mere three points to Uncle Fred and Mum at crib. After a dinner of Montreal smoked meat I lost royally at golf but made sure to screw everyone else over in the process. Mainly I wanted to screw over Mum and it worked. Uncle Fred ended up winning. Isaac had fallen asleep by then so I went to bed as well. Driving to Cape Breton tomorrow. Peace out m8s.
