Ok so we actually did get into town today. A bit late, mind you, because we missed the last train and had to catch the bus, but it was all good. We took the sightseeing tour up through the city to Casa Loma, which was our destination for the jour. Lemme just tell you, the castle was a birthday present from Sir Henry Pellat to his wife, Mary, so if any of you people are searching for a gift to buy me at any point in time... I'll just leave it at that. Casa Loma is beautiful, a combination of all the castle styles all over Europe with some Asian hints thrown in. It's a massive three story building complete with gardens, a library that holds over a thousand books, five guest bedrooms and separate living

quarters for the husband and the wife. There was even a tunnel dug underground to the stables and garage so that the servants didn't have to cross a semi busy road to get there. One of the funniest things about the house was that it was originally supposed to have a winding marble staircase from the first floor to the second, but the stairs were lost in transport of the ocean, because it was to be delivered during World War I. Henry Pellat, the owner of the house, got insanely rich off electricity, as every time someone flipped on a light in the city of Toronto, it was money in his pocket. But his profits started to go downhill and him and his wife eventually had to sell most of the items in the house. After Mary died, Sir Henry lived out the rest of his life in his old butler's apartment. He didn't even have enough money to pay for his own funeral, but the citizens pooled cash together and threw the biggest funeral the city ever knew up until three years ago. So kids, don't buy big gigantic castles and use up all of your money. Save it. Casa Loma also has had some pretty cool movies filmed there, such

as X-Men and Scott Pilgrim VS The World as well as a recent one with Tom Hiddleston. So yeah, pretty cool place to be. We spent a couple hours touring around there and then we got back on the bus to take the rest of the loop back to our stop. Toronto itself is pretty cool, what with Yonge St, West Queen's St and all that. It's got lots of neat shops and architecture. There's one museum that used to be just an pretty, old building, but they ran out of room so now there's a giant crystal thing growing out of the side, the design for which was submitted on a napkin by the architect. We decided to return the next day, but we had to get back to the Kizmet so she wasn't starved. Peace out m8s.
