Sonya's Blog - Day 35 - On The Road Again!

Sonya’s Blog - Day 35 - July 27th - Driving to Brussels, not far from Green Bay

We are on the road again today, we wanted to make an early start, but that sure didn’t happen. Part of the problem is that we don’t pay attention to the time and we let Natasha get up on her own accord. Well, she loves to sleep in and hates to go to sleep at night. So in the end it was a late start. It is only a 2 hour drive so we were not overly concerned, but we are only in Green Bay for two nights and there are few things we want to do there. Our campground was called Quietwoods.

Kizmet patiently waiting for us to leave:

Our neighbour came over to talk to us while we were packing up, one of the reason’s it took us so long. He and his wife were full-timers and he saw that we were from Alberta and wanted to ask us some questions. He had always wanted to go to the Calgary Stampede and he wanted to ask us about it and about the best routes to take into Alberta. He wanted to make sure they went to Glacier National Park on the way and then continue on to Alaska from there, probably next summer. They had sold their house and bought the RV and had been touring around since then. We talked to him for quite awhile and gave him some recommended routes. He then asked us about our travels and where we were off to next. When we told him Green Bay, he told us that we had to make sure we went to Door County and up the Peninsula, that it was fantastic and we would love it.

We ended up stopping on the way because with all our messing around we still didn’t make a lunch, so we stopped for lunch. I just had a salad and the kids had a sub. There was a clothing store in the same complex and I whipped in there to see if they had any boys clothes because Isaac won’t stop growing and needs new pants and PJ’s. No boys clothes, but they did have a deal on denim and they had some cute shorts. I only have 2 pairs of shorts and it is pretty much all I am wearing these days so I thought I would try some on. They also had some cute tops that Natasha liked. I found two pairs of shorts which fit me well, so that was good. Natasha had no luck with the tops. The top was super cute on her, but they did not have the colour she wanted in her size. She did find a dress she loved, that had pockets! OMG, the excitement! We both did well and the prices were decent.

We got on the road again and drove another hour or so and found a campground. It was a really nice campgound and was off the beaten path so it was indeed very quiet. They had a lovely pool area with a waterslide. The sites, however, were not level or graveled so we had some good times setting up our RV. We got it all level, but the hitch would not unlock - we really need to get that looked at. We cannot always have level sites and the bloody hitch should release when the RV is level. It took a lot of messing around to finally get the RV set up and level with the appropriate blocks under the wheels. We had supper and a fire and then called it a night. It was not the most productive day and we are going to be setting wake up times from now on.
