Lincoln Street
We have arrived in the birthplace of my people; the Dauntless. Abnormal as it may seem, I was up by 8:00am this morning, on time to have a shower before the hot water ran out. We had some things to get done this morning and we didn’t really have any plans. Once most of our stuff was completed we decided we would make the hour long drive into Chicago. I did some blogging on the way there and managed to get most of my work done whilst we were stuck in the line of traffic behind a construction zone. Dad has been to Chicago before and he told us Lincoln Street was a cool area. That is where we spent our afternoon, walking up and down Lincoln, checking out the shops and such. Mum bought Isaac some new shoes, since his old ones were completely ruined, I got a picture with a statue of Abe Lincoln and we bought some new book in the Bookcellar, including Ernest Cline’s second book, Armada. We had payed for two hours parking, so we dropped the books off at the truck and went for some snacks. Isaac and I both got some frozen yogourt and the parents bought their traditional coffees. We stopped by the bank for some cash which ran out the rest of our parking time. The way home had a bit of dramatic flair, what with none of the gas stations having diesel and Isaac not knowing how to shut his goddamn cakehole. We then had to redrive past 23 miles of construction, the O’Hare airport, a toll thing and a water tower resembling a rose. When we got home, we had some dinner and then Mum and I made some peach and blueberry crumble for breakfast the next morning. Then I read for a bit and headed off to bed. Peace out m8s.
