This morning was spent at the RV trying to get it organized and set up better. Our bedroom and the kitchen was kind of driving me crazy so I got to work on those areas and cleaned them up a little better. It went well and I have things in accessible places, together properly and much neater and tidier. Blake’s closet was driving me banana’s so I tackled that as well. I thought I did an amazing job, Blake was a little annoyed I did it. I didn’t think he would get to it quick enough for me so I just did it and now it is done my way and I approve of that! Each clothing item has a specific spot and I can open the closet door and get things in there now, so much better.
In the afternoon we headed into West Yellowstone and there is a small, bustling town there. They had a coffee shop/book shop that had wifi, which worked much better than the wifi at our campsite and we were able to get the pictures uploaded and the kids posts from Days 1 and 2 onto the blog. A huge success and much less frustrating. I think we will do the same thing tomorrow with the rest of the posts that need to get on there.
We visited the Visitor’s Centre and got an idea of some of the things we would like to do while we are in Yellowstone and bought our park pass for the time that we are here. Natasha had made us a packed lunch so we decided to do a shorter hike today that was close to the town and we headed out to do that. On the way we saw and elk sleeping in the tall grass on a small island in the river. We stopped to get a picture of it and check it out. She/he didn’t like Kizmet being so close, even though the river separated us and she started to duck her head in and out. As soon as I moved away with Kizmet she settled down again. Then we headed off to hike Harlequin Lake. It was just a short hike, one mile round trip, but it was lovely to be out and walking in the sun and not organizing the RV or worrying about our blog posts. It was a pretty little lake with thousands of lily pads that were blooming beautiful yellow flowers. We let Kizzy off because no one was around and she had a great time dipping into the water and running around. There was a trail that followed the lake for a bit so we took that to the end and then turned around and headed back. All together I think we were only gone an hour, but it was so nice. We have bigger plans for tomorrow in the park.

We headed back to the campsite, stopping in town first to get some groceries and gas. The kids and Blake went to the pool and hot tub first and I tidied up the kitchen and washed the veggies and fruit. It was Natasha’s turn to make supper tonight and she made us burgers, potatoes and a salad and did a bang up job. She did have a little help from us, but it was a great start. Isaac made the lunch for our adventures tomorrow, so that we can get an early start and explore as much as possible. Blake and I did the dishes, but then Isaac jumped in and finished up because he said it was his turn! Isaac is going to bed early tonight as he is so tired and getting super grumpy at around 4 PM. Hopefully he will get a long sleep and things will go better tomorrow.
That was our day for today. I am relaxing now and having a Bailey’s on Ice and reading a book. I grabbed the Care and Handling of Roses with Thorns by Margaret Dilloway. I have a massive pile of books to get through so I had better get started. Plus my bookclub buddies want me to keep them updated with what I am reading. Natasha and I are out by the fire reading our books, I hope more of our trip goes like the last half of our day instead of the first half:)
Talk to everyone tomorrow.
